The Boston Bruins: A Look Back at Their Storied History in the NHL.
The Boston Bruins have been a part of the National Hockey League since 1924, and in that time they have established themselves as one of the most successful and storied franchises in the league. From their first Stanley Cup victory in 1929 to their most recent championship in 2011, the Bruins have been a perennial powerhouse in the NHL.
The Bruins have had some of the greatest players in NHL history don the black and gold, from Hall of Famers such as Bobby Orr and Ray Bourque to modern stars like Patrice Bergeron and Tuukka Rask. The team has also seen its fair share of legendary coaches, including Art Ross, Milt Schmidt, and Don Cherry.
In the NHL hockey community the Bruins have been a part of some of the most memorable moments in NHL history, from Orr’s iconic goal in the 1970 Stanley Cup Final to Bergeron’s game-winning goal in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. The team has also been a part of some of the most heated rivalries in the league, from the Original Six battles with the Montreal Canadiens to the modern-day rivalry with the Toronto Maple Leaf’s.
